Fighting Crime in Uptown, CAPS is where you start
Uptown residents were shaken with three murders in one week this past September. These murders topped off a summer of violence in the Uptown community.
What can you do about crime and violence in our neighborhood? Start by attending your local CAPS meeting.
GWNA is located in CAPS Beat 2311.
CAPS meetings are on the first Tuesday of the month at Truman College. Meeting time is 7-8 PM.
At the December meeting, a representative from the Chicago Housing Resource, managers of the CHA buildings, addressed safety improvements for several problem buildings on Magnolia. An update on safety improvements and tenant issues should be provided at the February meeting.
